Belgian Jigsaw was first issued to para commandos in 1956. They were used primarily in Belgium but the early camo did see service in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo). It wasn't until the late 1990s-early 2000s that Jigsaw started being used by all Belgian forces.
 
Offered here are the smocks used by Belgian para commandos. They are a halfzip style, meaning the zipper will only zip down to the halfway point of the smock. 
The smocks all have two breasts and two waist pockets closed via a snap. 
Once the zipper is fully closed, the collar protects the neck, keeping it nice and warm. 
The sleeves can be adjusted as well. 
Since these were issued to paratroopers, there was a crotch strap that would snap from the back to the front of the smock, keeping it more secure when jumping out of planes. 
 
Depending on the year of production, these are either made of heavy canvas, heavy-weight cotton, or lightweight poplin. 
 
Condition: These have all been heavily used with multiple signs of it. When you get your smock, please expect heavy fraying, heavy fading, worn-out stitching, missing buttons, and/or a broken snap. Despite this, these are all ready to be worn, just in need of some TLC. 
 
Sizing: Since these were designed to be baggy and to be worn over the individual's clothing, they will run a little large. Below is the explanation of the sizing.
Size 2: Chest size 40 inches
Size 3: Chest size 42 inches
Size 4: Chest size 44 inches
Size 5: Chest size 46 inches
Size 6: Chest size 48 inches 
 
I normally wear a chest size 38, and the size 2 fits me well with room to wear a sweater underneath.
